Tax-free & Friendly UK Select Investment Plan is a 10 year plan. It is designed to let you make regular tax-free and tax paid investments in a stockmarket related product, with two UK fund options to choose from. Invest from £15 to £25 a month tax-free. Anything above this is invested tax paid.

  • Start a regular savings habit using your tax-free savings allowance. Invest £15 to £25 a month for 10 years.
  • Invest more and Scottish Friendly will deduct tax on your behalf. All investments will pay out free of any taxes after 10 years.
  • Give your money the long term growth potential of the UK stock market.
  • Your money will be invested in our UK Tracker Fund which is designed to track the UK stock market which features leading UK companies like Tesco, BSkyB and BT.
  • Alternatively, choose our UK Active Growth Fund which aims to outperform the UK stockmarket.
  • Flexibility is built in, allowing you to cash in early without penalty.
  • A small amount of life cover is automatically included.
  • Stock market investments can go down as well as up and you could get back less than you have paid in. The value of your investment is not guaranteed.
  • The UK Active Growth Fund carries a greater degree of risk as performance depends on the manager’s ability to select stocks and shares that can grow.
  • Tax-free means the fund your plan invests in grows free of income and capital gains tax (other than tax on dividends from UK shares).
  • Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and tax law may change in future.
  • If you cash in your plan early, you may have a tax charge to pay.
  • The cost of life cover is included as a small part of the plan’s charges. The cost of life cover is higher for older ages.
  • To apply, you need to be a UK resident and aged between 16 and 64.
