Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour 20th Anniversary Jamboree Prize Draw Competition Terms & Conditions

  • This Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour 20th Anniversary Jamboree Prize Draw Competition is open to all UK residents aged 16 or over, except anyone directly connected with the competition draw; employees of Scottish Friendly Assurance Society Limited (Scottish Friendly) or Scottish Book Trust and their affiliates, dealers, distributors, other retail staff and any of the family members of the above entities.
  • All entries posted on social media and received before the closing date will be eligible for the competition.
  • No more than one entry per person.
  • There will be five winners selected randomly from all eligible entries.
  • Each winner will receive the prize of one signed copy of each of the five named children’s author's books, a £50 children’s book token as well as up to four (including the winner) places at the Jamboree event at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on the morning of Wednesday 6 June 2018.
  • The closing date for entries is 11.59pm on Tuesday 8 May 2018. All eligible entrants will be considered for the competition, which will be drawn by Friday 11 May 2018.
  • If the winner of a winning entry to this prize draw competition takes up the prize of attending the Jamboree and wishes to bring along a child or children, they will take full responsibility for any permissions required for the child(ren) attending to take any time off school to attend. Only seats at the Jamboree event are provided – any travel and accommodation required will be the responsibility of the winner.
  • All internet connection charges shall be the entrant’s responsibility. Responsibility cannot be accepted for entries invalidated by technical problems beyond the control of Scottish Friendly or problems with accessing the website.
  • The winners will be initially notified via the social media channel they posted on and followed up by email.
  • The winners’ details will be used for administration of the prizes and publication of the competition winners as detailed below and may also be required to take part in any promotional activity reasonably requested by Scottish Friendly.
  • By participating in this Competition you agree to take part in such publicity.
  • The winners’ names and county of residence will be available on the Scottish Friendly website, social media channels and on request by emailing [email protected] (results available by email for 4 weeks from the date of the competition close). Winners consent to their names and county of residence being disclosed on the website, social media and to other entrants on request.
  • Physical prizes (the books and book token) will be delivered to the winner within 6 weeks after the prizes have been won (as determined by the promoter in their absolute discretion) and attendance at the Jamboree, if requested by the winner, will be arranged prior to 6 June.
  • At the promoter’s discretion another prize of equivalent or greater value may be substituted if in all reasonable circumstances the promoter is unable to offer the intended prize(s).
  • Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash or credit alternative available to prizes.
  • Physical prizes (books and book token) not claimed within 14 days of the prize winner being notified will be withdrawn and awarded to a new winner.
  • The promoter reserves the right to cease the competition at any time.
  • It is a condition of entry that the rules of the competition are accepted as final and that entrants agree to abide by the rules.
  • To the extent permitted by law, the promoter excludes all liability whatsoever to entrants and the winners in relation to the promotion and the prize(s) to be awarded.
  • The decision of the promoter will be final in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The promoter retains sole discretion to withhold prizes without liability if in its view a winner is ineligible, the entry is invalid or a winner does not meet the necessary requirements as set out in these terms and conditions.
  • The promoter reserves the right to withdraw or amend the promotion in the event of unforeseen circumstances or circumstances outside of its control.
