Walk to School week
Walk to School week begins on the 19th of May and encourages us all to walk instead of driving the car or taking the bus to school. For many of us it may mean leaving earlier, going a different route or perhaps letting your child go to school with their friends for the first time.
At Scottish Friendly we support our children’s learning and development through children’s literacy by sponsoring the Scottish Book Trust tours. Walk to School week is no different. By taking part we encourage our children to learn vital road safety skills, to get fitter and healthier and of course, it helps you save a few pounds too.
With the nicer weather and longer days it’s a perfect time to participate. For me, I will be walking my children to school all week and hopefully carry it on until the summer holidays.
