This June the Scottish Friendly Children’s Book Tour will be travelling to the (relatively) burning hot beaches of Brighton and Hove with award-winning Scottish picture book author Chae Strathie. We will be visiting ten schools for a week of fantastic events for primary school pupils as well as doing a one off event at the wonderful Book Nook for families on Thursday 19 June.
Over the course of the week Chae will be performing songs, reading stories and delving into the unimaginable depths of his infamous Story Hat with over 1,200 children
During the tour we will bring you all the tales from the road with plenty of pictures, videos and blogs from Chae. In the meantime you can have a look at our author facts, book recommendations and activities or enter our competition for the chance to win a signed and dedicated copy of Jumblebum, Chae’s award winning picture book, for your child.
- Chae lives in Fife in Scotland
- His books are loved all over the world and have been translated into loads of different languages
- Chae is also a world class kazoo player!
On the Bookshelf
Johnny thinks that his room has its own special style. But Mum thinks his room is a horrendous MESS! Johnny doesn’t care… until the chaos attracts the terrible Jumblebum Beast. Is Johnny about to end up in the Jumblebum’s TUM? A hilarious rhyming story about the importance of tidying up, brought to life by sweetly wacky pictures from Ben Cort.
For a chance to win a signed and dedicated copy of Jumblebum please answer this simple question:
Where does Chae live?
b) The Jumblebum’s tum
d) The moon
The closing date is Wednesday 18 June. To enter, please add your answer as a comment below along with your name and email. Read the full terms and conditions here.
Have a read and get some inspiration from these excellent activities you can do at home.
