Scottish Friendly is now Mobile-Friendly

We all lead busy, on the go lives and more and more people are using mobile devices to browse the web. Most of us have a mobile device nowadays; be it a smart phone or tablet, and a lot of people like to use their mobile phone on their daily commute to check emails, social media and also do their banking.

According to the IMRG Capgemini Quarterly Benchmarking Report*, 52% of traffic to retail websites now comes from a smartphone or tablet device. Indeed, 2014 was the first year that mobile traffic overtook desktop traffic. This is a growing trend and one we expect will be reflected in other sectors as well, such as financial services.

At Scottish Friendly we like to keep up with the times and provide a friendly and efficient service. Therefore Scottish Friendly is now ‘Mobile-Friendly’!

When you visit our site from your smartphone you’ll instantly see a difference compared to our desktop view. Our site is now responsive, this means it reacts to the screen size of your device and allows the content to reflow making it easier to navigate and read on your mobile phone. So you can now access information more easily and efficiently on our products and services, read our latest blog on the go or even apply for a new product, should you wish too.

We started our mobile journey by making our My Plans online system mobile-friendly. We then started work on making our emails mobile-friendly too. With so many more people accessing information on their mobile phones now, we hope these changes will help visitors to our site find what they’re looking for.

Search engine giant Google recently made it easier to tell which sites are ‘Mobile-friendly’ within their search results. Allowing you to see instantly if a site will be easier to read and navigate on your mobile device. I’ve got to say it was very satisfying seeing our site as ‘Mobile-friendly’ on Google’s search results. Why don’t you visit our site from your smartphone and see the difference for yourself. Just go to www.scottishfriendly.co.uk in your phone’s browser or Google ‘Scottish Friendly’.

Happy mobile browsing!
