No way Jose: super saver predictions for the weekend
So Jose Mourinho won’t be rocking under the Christmas tree, but he can look forward to the festive season without having to worry about a Boxing Day fixture. And with the payoff he will be getting, he will have plenty to stick away in savings – an important lesson for all! With Jose now looking for a job, maybe we don’t need the transfer window just yet. With United looking to make a big splash with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, it is all quiet on the goalie front, but rest assured Bob Friendly will be all over it when news does arrive.
I did a wee bit better this week with my predictions, getting five scores correct and also achieving the correct score – and one that has doomed Jose from Stamford Bridge.
Let’s hope I can get a bit of festive cheer ahead of the most wonderful time of the year.
Chelsea v Sunderland
Kicking off with the Blues it will be interesting to see how they react. I don’t think the players liked playing for Jose, so look for them to send the fans home happy this Christmas. 3-1
Everton v Leicester
It’s amazing how Leicester are flying, they look unbeatable at the moment! But Everton is a tricky opponent, and they have a few goals in them. I am expecting this to be a thrilling draw. 2-2
Man United v Norwich
United just can’t seem to score right now, and they shouldn’t be losing to teams like Bournemouth. I think they will be spending a lot of money this Christmas on new players, while seeing off Norwich comfortably. 2-0
Southampton v Tottenham
As our alternative table shows, Spurs should be top of the league, instead they are fifth and risk losing touch with the top four. Southampton on the other hand have been as inconsistent as they come. 1-1
Stoke v Crystal Palace
This game could be a real defensive battle, but I fancy Crystal Palace to nick this one. The Eagles are flying and if it wasn’t for Leicester they would be the talk of everyone up and down the country. 0-1
West Brom v Bournemouth
The Cherries got a vital win last weekend, but will need to keep up the good form over the festive fixtures to have a chance at staying up. This will be a tough game as the Baggies will be on a high after nearly knocking Liverpool off their perch. 1-0
Newcastle v Aston Villa
The upturn in form for Newcastle has come at just the right time and playing a woeful Villa side should lead to another three points. 3-0
Watford v Liverpool
That was a bad result at the weekend for the Reds and it doesn’t get any easier when they face Watford. Our super saver so far this season, Huerelho Gomes, has helped inspire the Hornets to seventh place, and I think he will be crucial in earning them another point. 1-1
Swansea v West Ham
Swansea are in free fall and need a win before the Christmas period. However, I see this only going one way, and that’s three points for the Hammers who have a good away record this season. 1-2
Arsenal v Man City
What a gift this is from the Premier League just before Christmas. A cold Monday night watching two great teams, lets hope they deliver on the quality. I fancy Arsenal to win this one. 2-1
