How To Train Your Dragon with Cressida Cowell at Stirling Castle

Cressida Cowell, Waterstones Children's Laureate and the award-winning author of the How to Train Your Dragon and The Wizards of Once series in the spectacular setting of Stirling Castle for an inspirational event! Cressida talked about her latest book, The Wizards of Once: Never and Forever and shared tips on becoming an author and illustrator. Cressida also revealed how her childhood on a remote Scottish island inspired her wildly popular How to Train Your Dragon series.

Olive Jones and the Memory Thief with Kate Gilby Smith

Kate visited schools in Edinburgh, East Dunbartonshire, Glasgow and West Lothian to discuss her latest book, Olive Jones and the Memory Thief, which is ideal for any budding scientists, tech industry pioneers and daydreamers in the classroom! Kate was born on the sunny island of Guernsey. It was daydreaming during a philosophy of time travel seminar at Edinburgh University that she first had the idea for her first book, The Astonishing Future of Alex Nobody.

The Colour of Hope with Ross MacKenzie

Ross MacKenzie, award-winning author of magical adventure stories, The Colour of Hope, Evernight and The Nowhere Emporium visited schools in Perth and Kinross (and across Scotland via a virtual tour) to discuss how he creates his immensely likeable characters and vivid fantasy worlds. His latest book, The Colour of Hope, is a powerful adventure of a world purged of colour by an evil Emperor and the remarkable girl who might just be able to restore light and brightness to a drab, grey empire.
